It allows the user to produce greater output of strength with little energy used and reduces hand tiredness. It is ideal for elderly with declining physical fitness. The invention of ServoGlove is protected by two registered patent applications. It is conprised of the following:
- Artificial tendons - integrated along the side of the fingers of the glove for strengthening grip.
- Sensors – placed in the fingertips of the glove to measure the pressure induced by the user. There are a control system with a control algorithm and batteries for power supply.
- Actuators in the form of electrical motors create pulling forces via transmissions from the control algorithm. The user can put on the ServoGlove as any normal gloves sold in the departmental stores. It is slim, comfortable to wear and durable with an aesthetically fashionable design. It is also very light. The estimated weight of the glove is 180 grams while a normal human hand weights roughly 350-400 grams.
